Terms of service

Effective 2026-04-24 · Plain-language summary, then the legal text · Boilerplate is placeholder pending counsel review
The plain-language version: Use Cognielo for lawful personal life management. Don't try to break the encryption or misrepresent professional credentials. Your data stays on your device; our liability for that data is therefore limited by construction. Subscriptions auto-renew per Apple's rules and you can cancel from Settings on your phone.

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your use of Cognielo (the "App"), operated by Elo AI ("Cognielo," "we"). By installing or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't install.

2. Your license

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control. The source code is not part of this license. Patents pending apply.

3. Accounts

Cognielo does not require an account. The on-device master key is your credential. You are responsible for device security and backup.

4. Subscriptions

5. Acceptable use

Don't:

6. AI Coach disclaimer

The Coach provides information derived from your own data and public sources. It does not provide medical, legal, or financial advice. Your doctor, attorney, and CPA are the system of record for those domains. Cognielo is not a medical device under 21 CFR Part 820.

7. Warranties

The App is provided "as is." We don't warrant that insights are accurate, complete, or fit for any specific purpose. Your data remains solely on your device; our involvement in preserving it is limited to the app's on-device storage.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cognielo is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, revenue, or profits. Because Cognielo never receives your data, our liability for data loss is architecturally constrained. Total liability for direct damages is capped at the amount you paid to Cognielo in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Patent posture

The architecture is protected by U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 64/041,821 and associated filings. Use of the App does not grant you any rights under the patents beyond the license to run the app itself.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in-app on next launch. Continued use after changes means acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Colorado, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to state or federal courts located in Weld County, Colorado.
